MARUDI: Recipients of the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) in Telang Usan district can now get help registering for the SPay Global and SarawakID apps.
Assistance is available at the Dewan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Kee Tee in Long Lama and the multi-purpose hall in Kampung Long Bedian.
A survey by the Telang Usan District Information Office (PPD) found that SKAS recipients who have not yet registered can get help registering for these digital applications at both locations from January 21 to 23.
To make the registration process easier, SKAS recipients only need to bring a smartphone and identification card when attending the temporary counter.
One of the SKAS recipients from Kampung Long Pana, Benjamin Wan, said that the initiative of opening a temporary counter helps the community, especially those in rural areas, register for the SPay Global app easily.
“The existence of this counter is crucial because registering for SarawakID and SPay Global is a basic step in receiving aid and enjoying various services offered by the Sarawak government digitally,” he said.
Additionally, Flannery Usun Anyi from Kampung Long Bemang mentioned that with SKAS, it somewhat eases the economic burden of low-income families.
“The community, especially those who are eligible, should take this opportunity to register and become part of the Sarawak digital community,” she said.
For the record, SarawakID was introduced by the Sarawak government as an innovative platform to facilitate access to various government services online.
Meanwhile, SPay Global, the official e-wallet application of Sarawak, offers cashless payment facilities for daily transactions and receiving Sarawak government aid.
