LIMBANG: The upcoming International Tug of War Competition, set for November 17-18 here, boasts a prize pool of RM66,000.
Bukit Kota assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said that the champions will receive RM20,000 and a trophy, in addition to being awarded the Sarawak Premier Cup.
Dr Abdul Rahman said this competition can position Limbang as a top sports hub, not only in Sarawak but on the international scene.
“We’ve received participation confirmations from teams beyond Sarawak. This includes teams from Sabah, Peninsular Malaysia, as well as our neighbours in Brunei Darussalam and Kalimantan, Indonesia,” he said this during the opening of the 2023 Tug of War Competition at the Limbang Sports Complex recently.
Furthermore, he wanted to expand the sports facilities in Limbang, making it a hub for diverse sports events in the future.
