Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang gave the advice by encouraging the community leaders to be better versed with the internet and social media because it is seen as an important tool to communicate with the people and to get updates on any issues faced.

“Our young people today are into social media, and the internet and social media are now the norm for everybody to transmit messages,” he said when officiating at the installation of new Kota Padawan Kapitan at Hung Fong Seafood restaurant, Mile 10 on Sunday evening (Dec 27).

Kapitan Chin will be replacing 81-year-old Kapitan Chong Chen, and will carry out his duty beginning Jan 1 next year until Dec 31, 2022.

“I want to congratulate our new Kapitan Chin for taking over the responsibilities of being a community leader,” he said.

While welcoming the new Kapitan, Lo also thanked the outgoing Kapitan Chong for his 20 years of service for the people in Kota Padawan.
