KUCHING: A total of 200 children from targeted groups under Yayasan Kebajikan Negara Malaysia (YKN) received brand-new Raya outfits through the 2025 Sinar Syawal YKN programme today.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri hoped this contribution would help ease the financial burden of parents and guardians while adding to the festive cheer.
“With this programme, these children can shop for their own Raya outfits, allowing them to celebrate the festive season with joy,” she said.
“Yesterday in Lundu, 50 more children received the same benefits.
“Alhamdulillah, seeing their bright smiles as they received their new clothes was truly heartwarming,” she said in her speech when officiating at the 2025 Sinar Syawal YKN programme sponsored by Alliance Islamic Bank Bhd at Mydin Petra Jaya here.
Nancy, who is also YKN chairwoman, urged more corporate companies and organisations to come forward and contribute to support welfare initiatives through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes in collaboration with YKN.
“YKN is always open to serving as a bridge between corporate donors and those in need.
“Additionally, all cash donations made through YKN are eligible for income tax exemptions.” she said.
Today’s event, co-sponsored by Alliance Islamic Bank Bhd, saw 150 children receiving their Raya outfits while another 50 were presented with the same donation at an event in Lundu yesterday.
“Once again, thank you to Alliance Islamic Bank for this meaningful contribution.
“Their commitment to supporting the targeted groups under the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development (KPWKM) through YKN is truly appreciated, and we hope this noble effort will continue in the future,” she added.
