KUCHING: The Philatelic Society of Kuching, Sarawak (PSKS) will host its highly anticipated Sarawak Stamp and Coin Fair once again, from August 31 to September 1 at Wisma Saberkas.
The event aims to cater to the growing interest in stamp and banknote collecting.
According to PSKS president Dr. Ong Liap Teck, the fair offers a unique platform for collectors to connect, share knowledge, and expand their collections.
“We have a diverse range of stamps on display, including those from Malaysia, China, and other countries,” Dr. Ong said in a statement.
The fair will feature a wide selection of stamps, from historic Sarawak issues dating back to 1869 to modern Chinese stamps that have gained significant value.
Collectors can expect to find rare and valuable items, such as the 1882 red 3-cent stamp and the 8-cent Golden Monkey Tickets.
In addition to stamps, the fair will also showcase a variety of banknotes from different countries, providing opportunities for coin collectors to explore their interests.
Dr. Ong encouraged those interested in stamp and coin collecting to join the PSKS and support the hobby.
“By participating in events like this, we can promote the appreciation of philately and numismatics within our community,” he added.
