KUCHING: The famous “Corpse Flower,” scientifically known as Amorphophallus, has been spotted at Kubah National Park here recently.

The Sarawak Foresty Corporation (SFC) described this as a rare occurrence. Located along the park’s Waterfall Trail, this plant is remarkable due to its enormous size and unique smell, making it a true wonder of nature.

The blooming of the Amorphophallus is an extraordinary and temporary event. Its striking appearance and distinctive scent, reminiscent of decaying flesh, attract curious spectators from far and wide.

SFC recently shared on its Facebook page, “Witnessing this spectacle is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you won’t want to miss.”

However, it’s important to note that the plant’s distinct odor may not be suitable for everyone. SFC advises individuals with sensitive noses or respiratory conditions to take necessary precautions.

To ensure the preservation of these natural wonders for future generations, visitors are requested to stick to designated paths and avoid touching or disturbing the plants.
