KUCHING: The Rakan Muda @ Sarawak Music Camp, a collaborative effort between the Sarawak State Department of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED), provided a platform for young Sarawakians to discover and develop their musical talents.
Over 70 participants aged 15 to 35 attended the free programme, receiving training in various musical instruments and gaining performance experience with local orchestras.
Beyond musical skills, the camp aimed to foster positive values like self-confidence, teamwork, and community spirit.
Participants were also encouraged to develop their social, emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
The camp culminated in the Rakan Muda @ Sarawak 2024 Music Concert, held from November 25 to 29.
The event was attended by Deputy Director General of the Rakan Muda Development Division, Syamsul Tahrin Mohd Tahir; Sarawak Department of Youth and Sports Director, Lamat Nyalau; and MYSED Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dolhadi Mazuki.
