Rafah: 14 children among 19 killed by Israeli bombing of two homes

GAZA: The death toll from the Israeli warplanes and artillery targeting of two Palestinian civilian homes in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip on Sunday morning rose to 19, including 14 children.

Palestine News Agency (WAFA) reported that the first raid targeted a house owned by the Joudeh family in the Ashdod camp area in the centre of Rafah, killing four people, a husband, his wife, and their daughter.

A caesarean section was performed on a pregnant slain Palestinian woman. The medical teams were able to save the infant’s life before the mother, her husband and her daughter were killed.

The sources added that the second raid targeted a house owned by Abdel-Al family east of Rafah, killing 15 civilians, including 13 children and two women. Several people went missing, and rescue crews are still working to recover those trapped under the rubble.

A series of raids launched by warplanes targeted agricultural lands in the Khirbet Al-Adas area, east of Rafah, wounding three people.

The occupation aircraft launched a raid targeting citizens’ homes north of Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7 has risen to 34,097 reported fatalities, with an additional 76,980 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children. – BERNAMA-WAFA
