KUCHING: The forthcoming weekend beckons the people of Kuching to join in the merriment at CATS Day Out: New Year 2024, heralding a start to the city’s year of events and festivities.

Scheduled for this Saturday (Jan 13), at The Hills shopping mall, the extravaganza will last from 10 am to 8 pm. The event promises an array of performances by renowned artists from the music industry, including Suffian Suhaimi, Marsha Milan, Nabila Razali, Insomniacks, and a showcase of local talents such as Ila Damiaa, Daus Eli, Knowno, Fly High Band, Edruce Azman, culminating in a special appearance by Adik Alfa.

In the midst of these performances, CATS FM’s esteemed presenters, namely Ardin Belarek, Fir Affandi, Elya Nabila of the CATS AM Crew; the trio Mia Manja, Nazreen Azahari, and Al Nazirul (Geng Petang CATS); along with Najiha and Fred will grace the venue, engaging and entertaining the crowd.

CATS FM managing director Mohammad Iskandar Mohammad Nawawi stressed that the event transcends mere entertainment; it’s a celebration aimed at fostering community unity.

“We are excited for our presenters to interact with our listeners and supporters, setting the tone for a positive start to the year. Beyond the festivities, we are committed to charitable endeavours.

“During the event, we will be handing over contributions from our late chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Bujang Mohd Nor to orphanages and underprivileged families,” he said in a recent statement.

The event will feature booths selling CATS FM merchandise, including official t-shirts, along with a photo-op booth set up like a studio, adding to the event’s allure.

The public can participate in stage games offering enticing prizes. Lucky fans stand a chance to attend exclusive meet and greet sessions with the performing artists post their enthralling acts.

Listeners can participate in an ongoing on-air contest until Friday (Jan 12), for an opportunity to win passes to the meet and greet sessions.
