KUCHING: Radiographers and radiation field professionals from across Asia will gather here to explore the latest developments and innovations in radiotherapy and radiological technology.

They will exchange ideas and innovation at the upcoming 24th Asia-Australasia Conference of Radiological Technologists (AACRT) 2023 from Aug 11-13, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.

Sarawak Health Department deputy director Dr Rosemawati Ariffin said the conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, breakout sessions, oral presentations, an exhibition and social networking sessions.

“We have invited distinguished speakers from across Asia and around the world, who will share their expertise and experience in the field.

“Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in radiological technology, including new imaging techniques, radiation safety and patient care,” she told a press conference today.

The conference will be an excellent opportunity to network with professionals from different regions and backgrounds, share ideas and experiences, and establish new collaborations.

“The conference themed ‘Honouring the Past, Treasuring the Present and Nurturing the Future’, signifies the importance of the evolution of radiology and radiological technology.

“It is imperative that we recognise the contributions of the pioneers who have shaped this field, and it is also necessary to appreciate the current advancements and innovations.
