KUCHING: The public are hoping that Petra Jaya Hospital would get completed soon.

Last Monday (August 24), Deputy Health Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, revealed that the tender for the previously abandoned hospital project is currently being evaluated with the issuance of the Letter of Acceptance (SST) scheduled for January next year.

“Work to complete the balance of the project is implemented through an open tender by the federal Public Works Department (PWD). The tender briefing and site visit took place on Feb 12, 2019 with the tender closed in April 24 the same year,” he said in Parliament in reply to Dr Kelvin Yii (PH-Bandar Kuching) who wanted to know about the status of the project.

Several stakeholders who were asked about the project expressed dissatisfaction over the delay and they hoped the project would be done quickly because it is badly needed due to congestion at the Sarawak General Hospital and others hospitals in the state.
