KUCHING: The public are invited to visit the Desa Fair programme at Anjung Mutiara 1, Bandar Mutiara in Tebedu and support the sales of goods by the community there.
Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada said the two-day programme, held for the first time from April 30 to May 1, was organised by his service centre, Tebedu District Office and other government agencies.
“The objective of the programme is to gather the local community, particularly farmers, to sell their farm produce so that they can earn extra income.
“Besides that, other items that will be sold include food and drinks, pepper products, handicrafts and many more,” he told New Sarawak Tribune.
“If this programme is successful, we plan to organise it every weekend, or monthly.
“It can be a good platform to attract visitors to buy the local produce and at the same time help the farmers increase their income.”
He added that he was looking forward to seeing not only locals but also those from Kuching and Samarahan.
