KPJ Kuching invited its resident consultant Dr Ang Choon Kiat and Cardiothoracic Surgeon from the Heart Centre Sarawak Dr Jong Yuan Hsun, to share their insight with the general public on the subject matter.

“It is our responsibility, as a healthcare provider, to educate the general public on health issues particularly on cardiovascular diseases.

“We know based on the statistics that this disease affects millions of Malaysians and it is important to educate this matter through health talk such as today,” said Nurhazimah Mahat, general manager of KPJ Kuching.

She added that cardiovascular disease cases in KPJ Kuching had increased from time to time.

Apart from the health talk, the hospital also conducted free basic health screening.
