KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) has been urged to prepare for polling with less than 18 months to go until the next state election.
Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing, who is also PRS president, advised party members of all levels to work hard to serve the people.
“This is the first time that PRS will go toe to toe with an unfriendly federal government in a state election,” he said in his speech during the party’s 15th anniversary dinner on Monday.

He added that PRS is a poor party and does not have boundless resources to fight in the next state election and so he asked all hands to be on deck.
“We need the support of all members. Regardless of their status, positions or ranks, we need them all in our fight.
“We will continue our ‘Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban’ (fight to the last) spirit in our future
undertakings,” he said.
The dinner was attended by over 100 dignitaries comprising PRS supreme council members and senior party members.
Among those present were Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan; PRS Women chief Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie; International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Assistant Minister Datuk Malcom Mussen Lamoh; PRS vice president Majang Renggi; PRS deputy president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum; PRS vice president and Utilities (Rural Electricity) Assistant Minister Datuk Liwan Lagang; Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk John Sikie Tayai; PRS deputy Women chief Rosaline Neging, and Women exco
