MIRI: Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin yesterday clarified that the roof leakage video that went viral recently believed to be taken in Miri Airport was due to heavy rain.
“That incident happened due to exceptionally heavy downpours causing the outlet being unable to cope and thus causing overflow of water, according to the Malaysia Airport Berhad (MAB) representatives at Miri Airport,” Lee said when contacted yesterday.
He said MAB had asked their men to check and confirmed that there was no blockage or leakage.
The pillar is at outside of the terminal building, he said.
“Upon arrival at Miri airport today, I was briefed by Malaysia Airport Berhad on the Miri Airport leakage video which went viral yesterday (Thursday),” he added yesterday.
