Two of four transit inmates who escaped from Puncak Borneo Prison, have been captured. A manhunt is on for the remaining duo.

PADAWAN: Two of the four transit inmates who escaped from Puncak Borneo Prison, have been captured in an operation codenamed ‘Ops Tutup’.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail said a manhunt for the other two inmates who are still at large, is ongoing through ‘Ops Tutup’ which was launched as soon as they received news of the prison break.

“A police team from Padawan police headquarters (IPD) was deployed together with the Tiger Platoon of the General Operations Force (GOF) to assist the prison authorities in the manhunt,” he said.

The two escapees who have been captured are Diveni Bumby and Bobin Bohan. Both were found in a forest near the Police Training Centre (Pulapol).

It is understood that the inmates escaped from Puncak Borneo Prison around 6pm Thursday and fled to the nearby forest.
