Preparing community for cardiac emergencies

KUCHING: Medical device specialist Altica Sdn Bhd has donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) trainer to the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Stampin branch in a move to boost the community’s preparedness in handling cardiac emergencies.

A ceremony was held to hand over the AED trainer at the MRC Stampin’s office here, marking the incorporation of a vital tool into the branch’s emergency kit.

MRC Stampin chairman Chai Chon Hon said Altica’s donation of the AED trainer was a boon to the community, adding that it empowered both emergency response and ensured lives can be saved.

Meanwhile, MRC Stampin lead trainer Chang Kuet Onn also lauded the donation, stressing its importance in ensuring community safety.

“Altica’s commitment to aiding our preparedness for emergencies perfectly aligns with our mission of safeguarding the community’s well-being.

“This AED trainer will play a pivotal role in our training programmes, equipping people with the necessary skills to make a tangible difference when it matters most,” he said.

Separately, Altica’s chief business officer Ikmal Hiraz said the contribution was in line with the company’s efforts in taking proactive measures to ensure community care.

“Contributing to this AED trainer is just one way we can make a positive impact on people’s lives,” he said.

MRC Stampin in a statement expressed gratitude towards the donation and said it was looking forward to utilising the AED trainer effectively.

“It is not merely about having the equipment; it is about fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience that will serve the community well in the future,” it said.
