KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Openg has given directive that all initiatives announced under the 2025 State Budget aimed at improving the people’s wellbeing will reach the ground, says Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

She said all the ministries and agencies, including the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Yayasan Sarawak, the State Secretary’s Office, and Jabatan Wanita, are actively preparing to ensure the success of these initiatives.

“I am not involved in all these, but I do know that the ministries and agencies are making sure that the initiatives announced by the premier reach the ground,” she said during a panel discussion on Sarawak’s path forward: Examining the 2025 Malaysia Budget at the 2025 Sarawak Budget conference at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here, today (Dec 4).

“This is the directive of the premier,” she said.

Hasidah said as far as Sarawak is concerned, the state government is sure that those initiatives meant for the wellbeing of the people will reach the ground smoothly.

She said fine-tuning will be carried out on things that need to be patched up.

“We will do the best we can and all the state government agencies are working together,” she added.

Hasidah said the state government will not rely on the federal-initiated central database (PADU) to get the data of the people who need government assistance.

“We don’t need PADU because we have all the data from the relevant ministries and agencies. Sarawak does not subscribe to PADU.

“We can help the people through the data available in these ministries and agencies,” she said.
