CAMBODIA: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg attended a dinner in conjunction with the 20th General Assembly of the Regional Islamic Da’wah Council of Southeast Asia and the Pacific (RISEAP) last night (Dec 6).
The event, held at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel & Residence here, brought together delegates from RISEAP member countries.
The Sarawak government delegation, led by Abang Johari, who also serves as RISEAP President, included Utility and Telecommunication Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister of Economy Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, RISEAP Honorary Secretary Datuk Mohamad Marzuki Mohamad Omar, Sarawak Islamic Council President Datuk Misnu Taha, and Sarawak Mufti Datuk Kipli Yassin, among other dignitaries.
During the event, Abang Johari was also honoured with the Exemplary Leadership Award.
Today (Dec 7), Abang Johari is scheduled to deliver the opening address at the 20th General Assembly of RISEAP, which will also be held at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel & Residence.
The assembly is expected to be attended by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Mohamad Marzuki.
Additionally, the Premier is set to pay a courtesy call on the Cambodian Prime Minister before departing for Kuching in the afternoon.
