KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang continued their ‘ngabang’ to the Gawai open houses on a pouring Sunday (June 2).
Their first visit was to the residence of Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at Taman BDC.
Uggah and his wife Datin Amar Doreen Mayang warmly received Abang Johari and his wife with a traditional Dayak performance at 1.27pm.
The couple spent almost two hours there before leaving around 3.15pm to visit Tan Sri Datuk Amar Leonard Linggi Tun Jugah’s Gawai open house in the evening.
Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi also visited Uggah’s open house. They were accompanied by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat.
Also present at Uggah’s open house were the Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki and chief political secretary to the Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
Former state Attorney-General Datuk Seri JC Fong, Federation of Chinese Associations of Sarawak president Datuk Richard Wee, and newly appointed Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) director Dr Cassidy Morris were also in attendance to enliven the Gawai Dayak spirits.
