KUCHING: In view of the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration, the public is encouraged to continue praying for greater peace, unity, and mutual respect in Malaysia.

“In conjunction with the celebration this Chinese New Year, we would like to extend our warmest greetings to all who are of Chinese descent.

“As we celebrate this Lunar New Year with family reunions and gatherings of friends and neighbours, we pray for greater peace and unity in our nation, and for better understanding, honour and respect among all people, which will surely bring about greater prosperity for all.

“Indeed, there is a place where we can enjoy more blessings from above. That place is unity,” said Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) chairman, the Rt Revd Datuk Danald Jute, today (Jan 28).

He also called on the people to rejoice with their Chinese friends and acquaintances as they celebrate the upcoming new year.
