KUCHING: There is a positive correlation between the declines of Covid-19 positive cases and the vaccination rollout in Sarawak since May 2021, said Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing.

He was referring to the data from the Health Ministry which showed that the state’s seven-day average cases on Wednesday (July 7) stood at 387, close to the phase two threshold of 345.

“At the same time, I’m also interested to know the percentage of Covid-19 positive cases that were discharged from hospitals since the mass vaccination took place in Sarawak,” he said in a statement today (July 8).

He added that if there was a positive correlation between vaccination and the severity of the infection on the people, then the Malaysian government must go all out to inoculate the people.
