MIRI: Police here seized various types of drugs worth more than RM25,278 in two separate raids on Thursday.
Miri Police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said that following the raids, two men were arrested on suspicion of being involved in drug distribution activities in the Miri district.

“On March 27, at approximately 10 pm, at the roadside of Kampung Lusut in the Miri district, the raiding team discovered and seized substances suspected to be methamphetamine, amounting to 50.10 grammes (g).
“The estimated value of the seized drugs is RM5,511,” he said in a statement today.
He added that on the same day, at 10.20 pm on Jalan Hokkien, the raiding team discovered and seized substances suspected to be methamphetamine, ketamine and Erimin 5, amounting to 161.51g.
“The estimated value of the seized drugs is RM19,767,” he added.
He stated that both cases are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
If convicted, the suspects face the death penalty or, if not sentenced to death, life imprisonment and no fewer than 12 strokes of the cane.
“The police also urge members of the public who have any information regarding drug-related activities to report them to the nearest police station so that these activities can be curbed and eradicated,” he stressed.
