SIBU: The police are asking for help from anyone who might have seen something or knows regarding a man’s body that was found at Jalan Pulau on Monday.

Sibu Police Chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, said the police received a report from the public at 9 pm on the same day.

The report said a man was found lying unconscious near the Rajang Port Authority building.

“The initial investigation at the scene had found a local man, believed to be a Chinese. He was fully dressed, wearing shorts and a yellow T-shirt, and appeared to be aged around 20 to 30,” Zulkipli said in a statement yesterday (Aug 25).

He said that the on-duty medical officer confirmed the victim’s demise at the scene at 9.26 pm.

An examination of the victim’s body has also been conducted, and there are no signs of injury.

“Furthermore, no element of crime was found at the scene,” he explained.

Zulkipli asked anyone who might have lost a family member to go to a police station nearby or call the officer in charge of the case, ASP Binsin Lunjong, at 017-8025675.

The man’s body was taken to Sibu hospital, and the police classifying the case as a sudden death.
