Police seek next of kin of accident victim

PADAWAN: The Padawan district police headquarters appeals to the public whose family member had gone missing, to come forward to identify a man who was killed in a road accident.

The Padawan Public Affairs branch in a statement, confirmed that the unidentified victim was involved in an incident on May 26, 2020 around 6am on Jalan Matang Jaya.

Investigations revealed that the victim was believed to be in his 40s to 50s.

“The pedestrian (victim) is believed to a hit-and-run victim. He was then rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and was pronounced dead on May 28 at 9.19pm due to a severe head injury,” the statement said.

The case is still being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Padawan police are asking for the public whose family members had gone missing to come forward at the Padawan District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division immediately or contact the Investigation Officer Inspector Sharlina at 082-862641 and 010-2119427.
