Several postings on social media have gone viral in the last few days which claimed the teacher who died on June 21 due to food poisoning – had actually died of ‘other causes’ related to workplace stress.

The Sarawak Teachers’ Union (STU) President Adam Prakash Abdullah had confirmed that the union also received several enquiries on the cause of the sudden death and was aware of several postings on social media, speculating on his death.

However, he appealed to the public to respect and allow the family some privacy.

He assured that STU would discuss issues related to workload in the school with the Education Department as well.

Adam said the teacher was the union’s member and once the treasurer of STU Miri Division as well.
