MIRI: Police are on the hunt for a man who hurled a molotov cocktail towards the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) Miri branch office this afternoon (Jan 8).

District police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari who confirmed the case, said the incident happened around 3pm.

A police report was lodged by the EPF Miri branch head after his employee told him of the incident that happened at Jalan Melayu.

No casualties were reported in the incident and there are only fire damages on the exterior of the building.

It was told that the unidentified suspect was riding a red motorcycle. Witnesses saw the suspect parked by the roadside before he threw the molotov cocktail towards the office.

The police are investigating the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief, Hakemal revealed.
