BAU: A new community hall will be built at Kampung Barieng here after which the existing hall will be converted into a pisang kepok collection centre to gather the crop from all over Singai.

It will also be upgraded to an operation room for the use of the village development and security committee (JKKK) and youths here.

Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said the new community hall would include a sepak takraw court and a badminton court for the benefit of residents.

He said this during a leisure programme with youths from Kampung Barieng at the community hall on Sunday (Jan 24).

He also disclosed plans to build a sports centre that will have a multipurpose hall featuring badminton courts and futsal courts for youths from Kampung Segong and Kampung Barieng as well as a football field for residents from the Singai area.

In another development, he said there were also plans to relocate Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Segong as the current one is vulnerable to floods.
