MIRI: A man who was riding pillion on a motorcycle died after a crash along a logging road in Marudi on Tuesday (July 20).
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the deceased has been identified as Hilary Kuleh Andrew, 27, from Long Sebatang ,Tinjar.
“It is believed that the rider lost control of the motorcycle while navigating along a bridge after he hit a rock,” he said, adding that the rider escaped with multiple injuries.
Alexson said the victim was thrown off the motorcycle into a river.
The injured victim and the deceased were taken to Marudi Hospital for further action.
Initial investigation showed that prior to the accident, both of them were heading towards Linei Putih.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
