PETALING JAYA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) de facto chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the coalition now has enough support from Members of Parliament to form the next government.
He said the numbers included MPs who have given their support to interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“High…far higher. Tun Dr Mahathir has definitely brought over some,” the PKR president said with a big smile.
He was speaking to reporters before leaving a hotel here today, where he was believed to have met PH MPs.
PH was left with 92 MPs after Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) quit the coalition.
Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot reportedly joined PKR today, bringing the strength of PH to 93.
Anwar, the Port Dickson MP, declined to reveal the exact number of MPs backing PH.
“I can’t (reveal) because we want to send to Istana (Negara)…let Istana decide,” He added. – Bernama
