Petronas operations unaffected despite severe flooding in Bintulu, Miri

KUCHING: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) has assured that its operations in Bintulu and Miri remain unaffected despite severe flooding on Wednesday (Jan 29).

This was confirmed in a brief statement issued by the national oil and gas company.

“Petronas wishes to inform that its operations in Miri and Bintulu remain uninterrupted following the severe flooding in both areas on Jan 29.

“The safety of our staff, their families, and the surrounding community is our top priority,” the statement read.

Petronas said that they are working closely with relevant authorities to ensure the well-being of the people, environment, and assets.

“We would like to thank all parties, including the authorities and Bintulu Port, for their cooperation.

“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide support where needed,” the statement said.
