KUCHING: The Sri Aman Pesta Benak main committee paid a courtesy call to Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at his office in the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Wednesday.

The delegation was led by Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, who also serves as the committee’s advisor.

The visit aimed to invite Uggah to attend the Benak Festival, scheduled to take place from November 29 to December 1.

During the meeting, discussions covered funding and the activities planned for this year’s Benak Festival.

The expected number of visitors for this year’s Pesta Benak is estimated to be between 60,000 and 70,000.

Also present were Sri Aman Division Resident Mahra Salleh, Deputy Resident of Sri Aman Division Charlie Keling, Sri Aman District Officer Shariff Bujang, and Sri Aman District Council Mayor Anthony Abell Chendan.
