KUCHING: Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KWKPK) permanent secretary Dr Rashidah Bolhassan has vowed to take into account the views from the Assistant Minister’s Office in the implementation of government policies.

This was important in order to deliver the best services to the community, especially in the core business of the ministry which oversees the welfare of the society.

She said this when paying a courtesy call to Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis at his office on Wednesday.

She was accompanied by KWKPK chief assistant secretary Caroline Cleophas Joseph and Early Childhood Development Division chief Salina Bujang.

The visit was a routine for every senior officer appointed to hold a position in the ministry. This was intended for the familiarisation as well as understanding how the Assistant Minister’s Office works.

During the discussion, both parties also emphasised on the involvement of adolescents in drug abuse which eventually leads to other social problems such as dropping out of school, teenage pregnancy, and participating in criminal activities.
