KUCHING: The Malay Businessmen and Industrialists Association of Malaysia (PERDASAMA) strives to help entrepreneurs especially Sarawakians to enhance their standard in business.
President of PERDASAMA, Dato Moehamad Izat Emir said that as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), PERDASAMA needed support and assistance from the state government to achieve that goal.
“The courtesy call with the Chief Minister is to introduce the existence of PERDASAMA.
“We welcome assistance and support from the state government to assist PERDASAMA especially PERDASAMA Sarawak Branch,” he said.
Dato Moehamad led a delegation of PERDASAMA and PERDASAMA Sarawak branch members to pay a courtesy call to the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office here on Tuesday.
PERDASAMA Sarawak Branch’s delegation was headed by its president Mashan Ahmad Rais.
Moehamad said the association has more than 16,000 members from 16 branches nationwide including Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
He said since its inception 19 years ago, PERDASAMA has been helping Malay entrepreneurs in Malaysia through several activities.
Meanwhile, Vice President of PERDASAMA Datuk Naim Mohamad said the company would strive to help many entrepreneurs to stimulate the state’s economy.
He also disclosed that PERDASAMA would organise a tour involving seven parliamentary constituencies.
“So far, there are 163 entrepeneurs member in Sarawak. We will recruit more new members to boost the state’s economy,” he said.
