KUALA LUMPUR: Perak FC climbed to the fifth spot in the Super League after thrashing Kelantan Darul Naim FC 7-0 at the Manjung Municipal Council Stadium last night.
The home team’s star player, Clayton Da Silva, stole the spotlight by netting four goals in a match dominated by The Bos Gaurus squad.
Perak wasted no time taking the lead, with Da Silva scoring as early as the eighth minute. Luciano Guaycochea added another six minutes later, followed by Adilet Kanybekov’s goal in the 24th minute, securing a comfortable 3-0 lead by halftime.
Yusri Che Lah’s side continued to torment their opponents in the second half, with Da Silva completing his hat-trick with goals in the 57th and 62nd minutes. Tommy Mawat Bada extended the lead with a sixth goal in the 69th minute.
Da Silva capped off the match in style, scoring his fourth goal in the 93rd minute to seal an emphatic win for Perak, who now sit in fifth place with 22 points from 18 matches.
Meanwhile, Sri Pahang FC drew 1-1 with Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC in a match delayed by approximately half an hour due to heavy rain at the Temerloh Municipal Council Stadium.
The home side appeared to dominate possession but struggled to create meaningful chances before being stunned by a 45th-minute opener from the visitors. Kenny Pallraj Davaragi headed in from a corner to put KL City in the lead.
However, Sri Pahang salvaged a point late in the game when Stefano Brundo converted a penalty in the 80th minute after KL City defender Adrijan Rudovic was penalised for a handball.
