KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will use part of the RM150 million allocation announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on July 15, to restore and upgrade old quarters, to provide better living space for police personnel.

Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology Department Director Datuk Seri Sahabudin Abd Manan said the restoration process (expanding smaller units into bigger ones) to enable policemen and their families to live in a more spacious, comfortable and conducive house.

“PDRM is turning old PDRM quarters that have two rooms per house into four-room houses which will be implemented this year in stages according to financial capacity,” he told Bernama recently.

Sahabudin said that currently a total of 286 units across the country have been identified to be renovated by combining two house units into one.

“Among them are Lenggong Police Station Quarters, Gerik in Perak, Mambau Police Station Quarters, Negeri Sembilan, Wakaf Mek Zainab Quarters, Kota Bahru, Kelantan and Block D Quarters, Southeast Brigade Kuantan, Pahang,” he said. –  BERNAMA
