PBDS eyes Dayak-majority seats in GE15
KUCHING: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) has identified the parliamentary seats that it will contest in the 15th general election (GE 15).
Its vice-president Sawing Kedit said the party is eying several seats where Dayaks are the majority claiming that PBDS holds an advantage in these areas ever since the establishment of the party.
“PBDS is a race-based political party, but we are not racist because we fight for Dayak rights.
“In truth, PBDS has its own strengths, and we are constantly working to improve our flaws and deficiencies,” he said.
He also stated that the PBDS was always open to working with all opposition parties in Sarawak.
“Be we will set our own stand when a meeting is called later on.
“I also encourage all opposition political parties with the same desire and purpose to collaborate during GE 15, to meet and discuss.
“This is to plan and discuss the basis for our cooperation while more progressive and comprehensive efforts must be discussed regularly to determine the direction of a full and effective cooperation,” he pointed out.
Meanwhile, Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen had recently suggested that the state’s opposition parties work together to face GPS in GE 15.
According to Chong, DAP Sarawak has complete autonomy in deciding which political parties in Sarawak to collaborate with in the upcoming general election.
