BINTANGOR: Undeterred by the heavy evening rain, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii stepped forward to personally distribute bubur lambuk and dates to passers-by and residents here, embracing the spirit of Ramadan.
The initiative was part of a community outreach effort by the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Meradong branch, which distributed 400 packets of bubur lambuk and dates at Kampung Melayu.

The event yesterday (Mar 26) was sponsored and officiated by Huang, who also serves as the MP for Sarikei and state assemblyman for Repok.
The preparation of the bubur lambuk was carried out by the PBB Women’s Movement of the Meradong branch in collaboration with the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) of each participating community.
“Bubur lambuk is a traditional dish that holds special significance for Muslims during Ramadan. This initiative not only helps those in need but also embodies the values of generosity and sharing,” said Huang.
He further emphasised that the act of breaking fast together fosters unity and understanding among different communities, reinforcing harmony and mutual respect in society.
