MATU: Parents need to monitor and control their children’s Internet usage.

District Officer, Hamidah Halpi, said this is important to ensure children are not easily influenced, do not get involved in negative activities, and prevented from falling victims to various social issues.

“Parental or guardian supervision, when children are using gadgets, is necessary.

“They are responsible for ensuring the well-being of their children and for maintaining vigilance on all activities their children are engaged in,” she said.

Hamidah made these remarks during the launch of the Jiwa@Komuniti MADANI Kampung Jemoreng Sembang Santai Programme at the An-Najam Surau yesterday.

She hoped more programmes involving agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) will be conducted to ensure the vision and objectives of the programmes align with the state’s development agenda.

Various activities were held during the programme, including a Ramadan Tazkirah by the Daro District Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) and a special NADI X MADANI Community slot featuring a ‘JobScam’ talk delivered by NADI Matu District.
