KUCHING: Quick action by a vehicle owner managed to prevent his car from being totally destroyed in a midnight fire at Jalan Merlin Garden today (Dec 13).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call around 12.30am and deployed firemen from the Batu Lintang station to the scene near Taman Timberland.
On arrival, they found that the fire had caused about 30 percent damages to the interior of the car which was parked outside a house.
The flames had already been extinguished by the owner. Nevertheless, the firefighters ensured that the fire was completely put out.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
