Over thirty join hands to clear old Muslim cemetery

KAPIT :More than thirty members of the Komuniti 1 Malaysia of Kampung Melayu and the Village Security Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Melayu along JalanSuhali here made a joint effort to carry out a mutual assist (gotong-royong) event to clear the old Muslim burial ground across Kapit town here.

The ‘gotong-royong’ project was one of their activities held to coincide with the fasting month of Ramadan in honour of the dead.

According to the organising chairperson Zulaini Junaidi the ‘gotong-royong’ project was also one of their traditions to clear their cemetery during the month of Ramadan as their commitment to show respect to their ancestors.

He thanked the participation of the Komuniti 1Malaysia of Kampung Baru and JKKK Kampung Baru for their full support to ensure the gotong royong project was a success.
