BINTULU: The Department of Social Welfare (JKM) Sarawak has disbursed a total sum of RM 64,495,350 from January until March this year benefiting 54,321 monthly aid recipients throughout the state.
Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah also said under the ‘Sejambak Kasih Hari Raya Aidilfitri” programme, a total of RM1,662,400 will be distributed to 16,624 eligible individuals in the state.
“A total of 601 beneficiaries in Bintulu division will receive donations totaling RM 60,100 under the programme.
“100 of the recipients are present today, consisting of 78 from the Tatau district and 22 from the Bintulu district,” she during the launching of the ‘Sejambak Kasih Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2024’ event at Tatau Darul Ibadah mosque on Monday (April 1).
Fatimah clarified that as of January to last March this year, the welfare office of the Bintulu division has channeled a total amount of RM3,442,850 handed out to 3,077 recipients of monthly assistance.
She cited that JKM welcomes involvement of corporate bodies and non-governmental organisation to collaborate with her ministry in organising various programmes for the vulnerable, adding that their involvement can add value to what JKM offers to its customers
