KUCHING: The Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) has disposed of a variety of narcotics at the Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park (KIWMP) at Jalan Sg. Tapang on Friday.
The disposed items included 32,358.68 grams of methamphetamine, 8,226.17 grams of ecstasy tablets, 4,118.37 grams of cannabis, 924.44 grams of powdered ecstasy, 117.55 grams of Erimin 5 tablets, 63.97 grams of Ketamine, 6,453 Nospan tablets, 55 liters of Kratom-infused water, a marijuana plant, and 2,374 bottles of urine.
Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata said that the total value of these confiscated drugs was RM1,775,558.60.
This amount, he said, could have potentially supplied 200,778 individuals grappling with addiction.
According to him, these narcotics were sourced from 3,416 cases recorded between 2012 and 2022 across 19 districts within the state. Throughout this period, a total of 6,807 individuals were apprehended for various offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and the Poison Act 1952.
