SIBU: A total of 319,099 Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) applications have been received as of Aug 31 this year, dating back to 2020, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah has disclosed.

She further revealed that out of this total, 276,543 cards had been printed, with 264,941 already distributed to applicants.

The Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development provided this update during a press conference here on Tuesday (Sept 12).

“Currently, we have 458 strategic partners registered as KGC vendors or strategic partners. These vendors are distributed across various regions of Sarawak – Kuching (167), Samarahan (25), Serian (12), Sri Aman (34), Betong (9), Sarikei (31), Kapit (9), Sibu (39), Mukah (21), Miri (55), Bintulu (38), and Limbang (18).

“Efforts are ongoing to expand the vendor network to cover different areas of Sarawak.”

She said the ministry is also actively reaching out to eligible applicants for KGC by setting up booths at various major events.

During the recent Konvoi Kembara 60 Tahun Sarawak Merdeka, the response from the public at their booth was overwhelming.

As part of their outreach efforts, a booth will be set up during the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Central Zone Convention on Oct 28 and 29.

Delegates attending the convention will have the opportunity to apply for the Kenyalang Gold Card.

“Applicants who have applied but have not yet received their KGC can check their status at the booth, as some applicants may not have received their cards due to changes in contact information,” Fatimah added.
