MIRI: More than 100 Hindus participated in the ‘Samvastharabhisegam’ hosted by Miri Hindu Society recently at Sri Kamini Durga Eswari Amman Temple here.
“With all the great support from the state government, the Hindu community in Miri feels grateful that we could have a beautiful place of worship” said chairman of the Miri Hindu Society, Murugayah Veloo.
He added there has been development in the temple every year with great support from the state government of Sarawak.
The presence of Minister of Transport Sarawak Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin for this auspicious celebration brightened the festival even more.
The devotees of the temple also expressed their gratitude to Lee for the continuous support to the Miri Hindu community.
Also present during the event were Cr Jeffery Phang and chairman of Miri Indian Association Cr Karambir Singh.
