MIRI: The restoration of water supply in 12 villages in Limbang District is currently underway, according to a statement from LAKU Management Sdn Bhd on Tuesday (Feb 13).
The team on the ground is actively working to release the “air lock” from the water mains, with the anticipated completion of this task within the next 24 hours.
The affected areas include Tedungan, Kampung Mengatai, Kampung Ulak, Kampung Belading, Kampung Anak Bukit, Kampung Kuala Awang, Kampung Binjai, Kampung Ipai, Kampung Merasam Bumbun, Kampung Meritam, Kampung Lubok Sigantang/Aur, Kampung Telahak, and Kampung Lubok Piasau.
Once this process is finalised, the water supply will gradually return to normal across all affected areas.
After the restoration of the water supply, it may appear turbid or dirty due to the repair process.
To address this, dedicated teams will conduct thorough flushing activities to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the water supply. Water tankers are also being dispatched to the affected kampungs.
Residents in these areas are advised to contact LAKU’s hotline for the water tanker service.
A pickup point has been established at the Tedungan shoplot for residents requiring urgent water supply, and they are encouraged to bring their water containers for collection at any time.
“We urge residents to rely on official sources for accurate information regarding this issue and to disregard any unverified rumours,” the statement added.
