BINTULU: A total of 41 second semester students of the Diploma in Accountancy and Mukah Polytechnic Department of Commerce were taken on an industrial visit to the famous AB clothing shop and warehouse, near here on Monday.

A lecturer at Mukah Polytechnic Commerce Department, Mohd Fadzli Ahmad said the purpose of the industrial visit was to expose the students to entrepreneurship and bundle(used clothing) business.
“It also exposes students to business opportunities in the field of used goods, fostering entrepreneurial
spirit among students and exposes them to financial management
of bundle business.

“The purpose of the programme is to provide exposure to students in the second semester to the world of bundle business as well as to enable students to learn about managing shops and bundle warehouses,”
he said.

Fadzli said among other objectives of this programme was to provide students of Diploma in Accounting and Commerce Department an opportunity to apply their existing knowledge and skills besides introducing them to the wider world of bundle business .

“Through a direct visit to AB Bundle, it has exposed students specifically to the management of a business, either from financial, administrative and income aspects,” he said.

He said the founder of AB Bundle, a former Assistant businessEngineer atPolytechnic Mukah, Adzlin Datu Ugis, had shared some important business knowledge and words of encouragement to the students to be successful entrepreneurs.

Fadzli also described the industrial visit as the best first step to expose the students and the tips shared by the AB Bundle greatly contributed to the students knowledge of the industry.

Meanwhile, Adzlin Datu Ugis said wearing a ‘bundle’ garment or ‘used apparel’ was becoming increasingly popular among the local community in the state.

He said the situation was said to be closely related to the high cost of living causing many buyers to see the ‘bundle garments’ as an alternative to own fashionable, cheap yet fashionable outfits.
“The students now have a deeper understanding of the challenges that will be encountered
in the world of entrepreneurship.

“The students learn new ideas on how to deal with the problems that will arise when running bigger
businesses,” said Adzlin, who has seven branches across the state, including the latest in Miri City, which will be opened this April.

Adzlin hopes such a programme would continue to be implemented
in the future in order to guide and train students into people who can contribute to national income and improve the country’s economy.

“Thank you to Mukah Polytechnic, especially the Director, Associate Lt. Col. Abdubrani Yunus and Mukah Polytechnic Head of Department, Mohd Saiful Nizam Khalid who have helped many local entrepreneurs through departmental programmes and organised this industrial visit to AB Bundle shops and warehouses in Bintulu, “said Adzlin.
