KUCHING: Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Michael Kong Feng Nian is observing a full-day fast during the holy month of Ramadan in solidarity with his Muslim colleagues.
This marks Kong’s second time fasting, following his first experience last year.
Reflecting on the significance of fasting in a Facebook post, he shared that it is more than just abstaining from food and drink.
“Fasting is not just about refraining from eating and drinking, but also about self-discipline, empathy, and reflection,” he said.
By taking part, Kong aims to gain a deeper appreciation of the sacrifices and devotion that come with this sacred practice.
“It offers a deeper understanding of the dedication and spiritual commitment observed by Muslims during Ramadan,” he added.
Determined to complete the fast, Kong expressed enthusiasm about sharing the experience with his colleagues.
“Looking forward to completing the day and experiencing the spirit of Ramadan together. Selamat Berpuasa to all my Muslim friends!” he said.
