MIRI: Two objects were found half-buried in the ground in an orchard adjacent to Rh Ngadab Sungai Kurong, Suai on Monday (Aug 8).

The fragments are believed to be from China’s Long March 5B rocket that plummeted to Earth on Aug 1.

A team of Niah Fire and Rescue Department personnel led by its chief Rary Binjie rushed to the scene, which is located about 33km from the station after being informed of the discovery at 2.19pm.

Equipped with personal protective clothing, the team arrived around 2.52pm at the scene to inspect the objects.

Villagers have been told to stay away from the area until investigation to identify the fragments is complete.
