SIBU: Noh Mat Wajid and Masjuita Mohamad Rajeni emerged as top qari (male) and qariah (female) at the district-level Majlis Tilawah Al-Quran held at Surau Darul Taqwa, Taman Rejang here last Saturday.
The prize presentation ceremony was graced by the surau’s chairman Kiprawi Johan.
Thirteen participants took part in the two-day event, with 10 competing in the qari category and the other three in the qariah category.
According to Kiprawi, the champions will represent Sibu Zone for the next state-level contest for both categories.
